Post 15 years, the man who introduced India to Vero Moda and Jack and Jones moves on. India saw experimental fashion through Vineet Gautam.
15-year era touches Finishing Line
- BESTSELLER is present with 332 brand outlets and in over 1,578 shop-in-shops across India.
- BESTSELLER India announces that Vineet Gautam, CEO & Country Head, will be stepping down from his role after 15 years with the organisation.
- Since joining BESTSELLER India in January 2010, Vineet Gautam has been instrumental in introducing and establishing brands such as JACK & JONES, VERO MODA, ONLY and SELECTED HOMME in India.
- Reflecting on his journey, Vineet Gautam said: "When I began this journey 15 years ago, my goal was to bring a new wave of fashion to India. The success we’ve achieved together – from launching brands to creating a robust retail network – has been deeply fulfilling. I am incredibly proud of the team at BESTSELLER India, whose passion and commitment have made us a market leader. As I step away, I am confident that the legacy we’ve built will continue to thrive."
- While the search for Gautam's successor is underway, Mrithyunjay Amblimath, currently serving as the Head of Sales, will take on the role of an interim leader for BESTSELLER India. A key member of the company's leadership team for several years, Mrithyunjay brings a wealth of experience in driving operational excellence, strategic growth and building trusting partnerships.
The Global Player’s Game in India
- BESTSELLER has continued and maintained its foundation as a family-owned fashion company with a strong heritage. In 2001, Anders Holch Povlsen, son of Troels and Merete took over as the owner and Managing Director of BESTSELLER.
- Anders began working in the company at the age of 15. Since 1996 he had been Managing Director of the brand VILA. Merete and Troels are still involved in the family business. Troels as a member and Merete as the chairman of the BESTSELLER’s Board of Directors.
- In 2006, BESTSELLER began transitioning to digital retailing when they launched their first e-commerce platform. Since then, the group significantly expanded their investments in retail and online technology.
- In 2018, BESTSELLER launched sustainability strategy, Fashion FWD, setting ambitious goals for integrating sustainability across our business.
- BESTSELLER India currently has 362 exclusive brand outlets and is present in over 1,793 shop-in-shops in external multi-brand stores throughout India. BESTSELLER India markets and sells the six BESTSELLER brands Jack & Jones, Vero Moda, Only and Selected Homme.
